The Citizen Welles Society of Kenosha

In May, 1915, cartoonist, actor, poet, puppeteer, painter, producer, pianist, director, screenwriter, magician, and bullfighter, George Orson Welles was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin USA.

100 years later, in May 2015, Kenosha will celebrate the man who considered himself “almost belligerently mid-western and always a confirmed Badger” with performances, presentations and programs from the Welles’ catalog of films and theatre plays and with works inspired by Orson Welles.

The Citizen Welles Society of Kenosha was formed to organize this community celebration of its native son. We invite you to learn more or to become a part of the creative process by subscribing to this site (it’s free) and receiving news and information via email.
